Ghost of Tsushima The game follows Jin Sakai, a samurai warrior on Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan in 1274. As the Mongols, led by Khotun Khan, invade the island, Jin must adapt and transform his fighting style to save his homeland.

Act 1: The Fall of Tsushima

The story begins with the Battle of Komoda Beach, where the samurai, led by Jin and his uncle, Lord Shimura, attempt to stop the Mongols. The battle ends in disaster—most samurai are slaughtered, Lord Shimura is captured, and Jin barely survives.

Rescued by Yuna, a thief, Jin realizes that traditional samurai honor won't be enough to defeat the Mongols. With her help, he sets out to free his uncle from Castle Kaneda. Along the way, Jin gathers allies, including:

Sensei Ishikawa – a master archer hunting his rogue student.
Lady Masako – a warrior seeking revenge for her murdered family.
Ryuzo – leader of the Straw Hat Ronin, who later betrays Jin to the Mongols.

Jin eventually storms Castle Kaneda, freeing Lord Shimura, but Ryuzo defects to the Mongols.

Act 2: The Ghost Rises

With Lord Shimura freed, the goal shifts to reclaiming Castle Shimura. However, Khotun Khan moves his forces north. Jin realizes that samurai tactics aren’t enough and begins using stealth, poison, and deception—acts dishonorable in samurai culture.

Jin’s actions earn him the title of "The Ghost", and he gains the people's support. However, this defiance angers Lord Shimura, who still follows the samurai code.

Jin ultimately takes Castle Shimura, but Lord Shimura disowns him for dishonorable tactics. Jin also discovers Khotun Khan is at Port Izumi, preparing to launch an attack on Japan.

Act 3: Final Confrontation

Jin launches an attack on Port Izumi, defeating Mongol forces and confronting Khotun Khan. After an intense battle, Jin finally kills the Mongol leader, preventing the invasion.

With the Mongols defeated, Lord Shimura receives orders from the Shogun to kill Jin for his dishonorable methods. In a heartbreaking final duel, Jin defeats his uncle.

The player chooses to spare or kill Lord Shimura, marking the game’s emotional climax.
Regardless of the choice, Jin abandons his identity as a samurai, fully embracing The Ghost, living as an outlaw but a hero to Tsushima.
