Judgment follows the story of Takayuki Yagami, a former lawyer turned private detective, as he investigates a series of brutal serial murders in the crime-ridden streets of Kamurocho (a fictional version of Tokyo’s Kabukicho).

A Lawyer’s Fall from Grace (Prologue)

Three years before the events of the game, Takayuki Yagami is a promising defense attorney who achieves the impossible—securing a not-guilty verdict for a murder suspect, Shintani Okubo. However, shortly after his release, Okubo is arrested again for allegedly murdering his girlfriend and setting their apartment on fire.

The public turns against Yagami, and he quits being a lawyer, believing he let a murderer walk free. He opens a private detective agency with his ex-yakuza friend Masaharu Kaito.

The Serial Killer Case (Main Storyline)

Three years later, Yagami is hired to investigate a case involving the Tojo Clan yakuza, where several gang members are being found dead with their eyes gouged out. The media calls the killer "The Mole".

As Yagami investigates, he uncovers a massive conspiracy that involves:
