Mortal Kombat 11 features one of the most ambitious storylines in the series, filled with time travel, alternate timelines, and a battle over the very fabric of reality.

📜 Background Setup

After the events of Mortal Kombat X:

Raiden, now corrupted by dark energy after using Shinnok’s amulet, kills Shinnok and becomes ruthless, believing that all threats must be destroyed before they can rise.
This disrupts the balance of time, angering Kronika, the Keeper of Time and Shinnok’s mother.

⏳ Kronika’s Plan

Kronika seeks to rewrite history and create a New Era without Raiden.
To do this, she manipulates time, merging the past with the present.

Act III: The Final Battle

Kronika captures Liu Kang and merges him with his past self, but Raiden saves him and fuses with Liu Kang instead.
Fire God Liu Kang is born — combining Raiden’s godly power with Liu Kang’s soul and martial arts mastery.
Liu Kang defeats Kronika’s forces and confronts her at the Hourglass, a realm outside of time.
